I am a responsible actress, says Tapsee

Leading actress Tapsee Pannu doesn't want to waste the money of the viewers who come to watch her film. "Film buffs buy tickets with their hard-earned money. I don't want to disappoint them with a mindless movie. Hence, I am picking films that are a good mix of intelligence and emotion. I feel responsible to the audience of any language," says the actress, who is returning with another interesting film 'Game Over'. "I okayed this script in the first sitting itself. It is first-of-its-kind in India cinema. Apart from my character, both story and screenplay are well-drafted and captivating too," she adds. She claims that she hasn't gone away from Telugu films. "I am doing alteast one Telugu film every year so I am well connected to Telugu audiences," she points out. The actress describes director Ashwin as a talented guy. "He spoke about my Hindi film 'Pink' for one and half-hours which stunned me. A south Indian filmmaker talking about a B-town film is a rarity. These days I am getting opportunity to work with brainy directors and Ashwin is surely one of them. I never suffered a fracture in my real-life life but in this film I was confined to a wheelchair for most part of the movie. Surely, a demanding role both physically and mentally," she informs.

Talking about her initial years as an actress, she confesses, "At the beginning of my career, I didn't know much about acting but gradually learnt the art. In fact, I didn't repeat any of my mistakes that kept in good stead," she adds. With 'Game Over' set to release on June 14, she is feeling the jitters. "I am feeling nervous a bit as the film nearing the release date. I don't mind carrying a film on my shoulders as I am confident about the novel script," she avers. On her Hindi film 'Badla' crossing Rs 100 crore mark, she adds "It came as a pleasant surprise. Its massive success shows that the audience are not leaving their brains at home," She claims that Anurag Kash liked 'Game Over' very much. "Anurag is going to take this novel content across the world. Because its a film that raises the bar on India cinema," she concludes. - BVS
