I have no sisters, says Naga Shaurya
Young actor Naga Shaurya says that he has no sisters but only a brother. "Although I have no sisters, I have a rakhi sister named Priya who is close to our family. I can't imagine anything happening to her.
So this story came out from my soul," says the actor-turned-writer in an interview to promote his upcoming film 'Aswathama'. "Every day we hear the news about various crimes against women.
Even yesterday, we read about a girl being raped and thrown on railway tracks. I can't go out to save them but this film will give an answer to such crimes. Nonetheless, the story is inspired by a true-life incident and I am in touch with that brave girl," he informs.
He rules out any interference with director and crew. "Despite being a story writer, hero and producer, I had no issues while shooting as we discussed everything before going to the sets." He claims that villain is a fictional one, while most of other characters are close to real-life.
"If the villain is weak, the story looks contrived, so we etched the role of a menacing baddy. Whereas, audience can relate to most of other characters," he points out.
He claims that after a flop like 'Narthanasala,' he was advised to work with seasons hands. "I trusted a young team who are around 30 years old. Many advised us to sign experienced hands because we were investing big. But I went by my gut feeling," he reasons and adds, "I learnt many a lesson while writing the script to the making of the film and about budgets as well."
He disclosed that he donning an intense role and was disturbed a bit while enacting it. "I usually read my dialogues before going to the shot, but in this film I just went ahead and delivered my dialogues with appropriate expressions since everything was etched in my mind," he informs.
He describes his film as emotional drama rather than a usual action flick. "I want to do roles that excite me. Love stories are becoming repetitive these days. I hope new ideas will beckon me after this movie.
I am not against love stories because biggest hits like 'Titanic' and 'Bahubali' were based on love. But just looking for refreshing plots, that's it," he signs off.
