I'm banking on fresh plot, says Shiva Kandukuri
Debutant Shiva Kandukuri always dreamt of becoming an actor but wanted to prepare himself for the craft. "I honed my acting skills for one year in a theatre group in USA.
The instant applause from the audience boosted my confidence and I resolved to turn an actor," says the son of national-award winning producer Raj Kandukuri.
"My father told me that acting is not easy job because the success rate is very low. Giving up a plush job to pursue acting wasn't an easy call as well. I was floored by the passion of my father towards good cinema, who made content-driven movies like 'Pellichoopulu' and always in forefront to promote small movies with young talent," he adds.
On choosing 'Choosi Choodagane,' as his debut vehicle, he adds, "It is very honest and realistic movie. As my father suggested, it had some novelty and freshness," he informs. He claims that he is playing a relatable role in the movie.
"Everyone will connect to my role as well as to the story," he adds. My father could have given me a big director but he always believed that 'story is the king' and felt I should do this one. "Dad okayed this script long before I came on board," he informs.
He claims to have received few offers and working on it. "Happy to get offers even before release of my debut flick. I am playing a cricketer in one of my movies," he adds.
He claims that his dad is very critical about my work. "He is a perfectionist." he signs off.
