Superstar Mahesh Babu created yet another record in Nizam area. His film Maharshi has now become the third highest earning film in the area, surpassing Rangasthalam. It collected Rs.28 crores share in 19 days run, surpassing the lifetime collections of Rangasthalam in Nizam, which is Rs. 27.7 crores.

Maharshi achieved this feat on the third Monday of its release. Many mega fans questioned that how can Maharshi surpass Rangasthalam despite having less gross collections. The trade analysts said that it is because of the difference in the rate of GST for both the films.

When Rangasthalam released, the GST on tickets was high. It got decreased now, which resulted in heavy shares for Maharshi. Meanwhile, Maharshi, which is yet to cross 100 crore share worldwide, might not break Rangasthalam's record of 120 crores worldwide collections. Maharshi was a huge flop in overseas and Ceded areas.
