Nagarjuna returns with a comic caper

Nagarjuna's last film 'Devdas' released a year ago and now he is returning with a comic-caper 'Manmadhudu 2, which is set for a grand release on August 8. In the film, he plays an older character who falls in love with a 20-year-old girl. "Manmadhudu 2' is a perfect entertainer in my zone.

It's a comic caper with a dash of romance," said the actor, while talking to the media. "Actually, I was looking for the right film which would suit my age and sensibilities. The French film had it, and it has a universal concept. And I always like to include families in my stories and this remake had that scope.

I roped in director Rahul Ravindran as I was impressed with his work in 'Chi La Sow," he informed. He claims that as a producer he likes to get involved in 'every aspect of filmmaking' while he will just remain an 'actor' in other productions.

He wants to keep making films by updating himself but doesn't like to follow 'trends'. On growing older, he added, "I've realised that I cannot do certain roles at this stage. I cannot play a college boy or a youngster who is in love at this point in my career.

Automatically, as I grow older, the number of characters I could play has come down. I definitely do not want to become a character artist right now," he adds. He likes to pick scripts that would attract 'youth' and 'family audience'. "For me, a film is about entertaining people. I'm not craving for best actor awards.

I don't even go that side. I'm not looking at critics' reviews as well. I'm there to entertain people. Every day, people feel some sort of stress from morning to evening. I want them to come to the theatres and enjoy. I want to show some magic for the 2-1/2 hours and I hope that they can go back to their home smiling." he concludes.
