Release date locked for 2.0 in China
India's most expensive film 2.0 is all set to release in China on September 6. Initially, the makers planned to release it in July but backed out in the last minute as Hollywood biggie The Lion King was slated to release on the same day. After that, they have decided to take some gap and come back on a suitable date.
The sci-fi thriller will be released in a massive amount of screens across the country. Generally, Chinese audiences receive this kind of films very well and these days, many Indian films are doing great at the Chinese box office. These reasons are making 2.0 makers pin a lot of hopes on its Chinese release.
2.0 had a wide release in India in November last year. Though it registered huge numbers at the box office, the film remained as a commercial loss venture in many of the areas. Directed by visionary filmmaker Shankar, 2.0 stars Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar in the lead roles.
