Update: 2019-09-17 23:30 IST

Undoubtedly, Tamil star Suriya, who was making waves in T-town with a slew of blockbusters like 'Ghajini' 'Veedokkade', 'Ghatikudu' and 'Singham,' lost his ground after duds like 'Gang' and 'NGK'.

"No doubt, Suriya's upcoming film 'Bandobast' has created a lot of buzz in the two Telugu states. If the action adventure lives up to its raising expectations, Suriya has big chance to regain his lost ground in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh," says leading distributor Ramakrishna, who describes Suriya as a 'bundle of talent'.

"He can slip into the skin of the character with consummate ease. Yet again, he will be seen in multiple roles in 'Bandobast' and bound to create ripples," he adds.

Actually, Suriya expanded his fan base among Telugu movie buffs as well his market over the years and once his films were sold like hot cakes.

"Suriya's Telugu dubbing rights reached from meagre Rs 2 to crore to Rs 16 crore and Telugu producers rushed to buy the rights because he was drawing good openings on par with Telugu stars," says distributor Bharat Bhushan, who claims that Suriya made his Tollywood debut with 'Raktha Chatritra 2' at the peak of his career in T-town and his brooding performance as faction-leader got noticed.

"Surely, Suriya has offered a variety of roles with '7th Sense," 'Brothers' and played a villain in '24' to showcase his acting talent, but now all that he needs a blockbuster to regain his winning habit." he adds.
