Uday Kiran's last film on OTT?
Uday Kiran's last film 'Chithram Cheppina Katha', after a trailer released in March 2014, two months after he committed suicide, was never released.
The 151-minute film was touted to be a mystery thriller where a hero goes in search of his past. Madalasa Sharma, his heroine, went on to act in over 15 films after this stalled release in various languages including Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi and a few foreign ones. A report in a leading Tamil daily says there are efforts underway to release the film on OTT platforms.
After the hero's unexpected demise, there were rumours swirling in the Telugu film circles as to how his films were stopped from getting screened as he had earned the wrath of the families which were ostensibly controlling the entire business.
Uday Kiran subsequently went on to act in Tamil films with a film of K Balachander as part of his repertoire. Nothing could keep him stable for long, however, leading him to take his life six years ago. In a career of about 14 years since his debut in 2000, 33-year-old Uday Kiran had acted in over 15 films.
