Vedhika pockets Rs 30 lakh?

Despite not having a market in Tollywood, young actress Vedhika is reportedly pocketing Rs 30 lakh for her role in 'Ruler'.

She will be romancing Balakrishna in this action film along with B-town hottie Sonal Chauhan. "Vedhika didn't budge on her pay despite being a routine glam-centric role.

Producer didn't mind heeding to her demands since they wanted an actress who is popular in among Telugu, Kannada and Tamil viewers.

Although she deserves not more than Rs 15 lakh per film," says a source, close to the unit.

The actress, who was last seen in Tamil dubbed movie 'Kanchana 3,' has tried her luck in T-town with straight Telugu movies like 'Vijayadasami,' 'Banam', and 'Daggaraga Doorangaa' but failed to make an impact.

Meanwhile, she made her mark in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films before returning to Telugu films after a gap to share screen space with Nandamuri hero.

"Balakrishna doesn't object to any choice made by the director and just goes on with his work, unmindful of the popularity of his female co-star.

He doesn't recommend names of the actresses either," he adds. It is known that he is donning khakhis as well 'suit boot' look in his upcoming movie.

In remuneration, Vedhika has surpassed her arch rivals like Nivetha Thomas, Anupama Parameswaran, Nabha Natesh, Ritu Varma and Kalyani Priyadarshini, who are more popular in T-town.

"No doubt, she is ahead of her peers but we have to see whether she will scale down her pay to do more Telugu movies or will go back to Kannada movies," the source points out.
