Vinayak not keen on Vikram Vedha?
Although rumours are making rounds that seasoned director V V Vinayak will be directing the Telugu remake of Tamil film 'Vikram Vedha' for the last two days, Vinayak has no such plans.
"He told his team that the subject lacks Telugu nativity and it may not work with Telugu movie buffs" says a source, close to the director. In fact, 'Aadi' director received this offer two years ago from Venkatesh but he declined it.
"It is true that Venkatesh and Vinayak discussed it a few times. Later, both decided to drop the idea because Telugu audience will not digest films with ''slum backdrop', unlike in Chennai were slums are very much visible in the city," the source adds. On Tuesday, Suresh Babu declined plans to remake 'Vikram Vedha".
"Even Vinayak has taken these reports with a pinch of salt," the source points out. Despite scoring two blockbusters with Tamil remakes-Tagore and Khaidi No 150- Vinayak is not keen on doing a remake right now, but if he gets an good film that has enough potential to strike a chord with Telugu viewers, he may consider it, the source concludes.
