We are worried about cine workers, says Chiru
Seasoned star Chiranjeevi claimed that they want to revive shootings since it would provide livelihood to 14,000 cine workers in the industry. "We are not here for resuming shootings of four to five producers whose films are stuck in various stages of production. Rather, to provide livelihood for thousands of cine workers who lost their earnings due to lockdown.
We are seeking guidelines on safety measures from the government to revive our work," said Chiranjeevi in an emergency meeting with Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday. He along with Nagarjuna, S S Rajamouli, Allu Arvind, Koratala Siva, Suresh Babu, Dil Raju and V V Vinayak and others attended the meet.
"Our govt will provide full support to film industry. Although lockdown is till May 31, post-production works have begun. We will discuss with Chief Minister KCR on reviving film shootings soon," he added. Director Rajamouli also expressed difficulties faced by film fraternity due to lockdown.
"We will avoid scenes with large number of people instead will begin shooting with less number of crew and artistes. We will do mock shoot if needed for permission," he added. Nagarjuna also told the minister that industry will follow safety measures and ban on inter-state travel also affected their work.
