Mother was Unusual Personality: Geeta Reddy

My late mother Smt. J. Eashwari Bai was an unusual personality. From my childhood, I used to look up to her in awe! During the '50s and '60s, there was hardly any talk about woman's empowerment. But she empowered herself, armoured with her self-confidence, selfless service and with no political or financial support, she marched on. like a colossus.

She became a Municipal Councillor and M.L.A. twice M.L.A. Worked relentlessly for the downtrodden and raised her voice in the Assembly on various issues impacting the life of the poor. She played an important role in the 1st phase of Telangana movement in 1969 for which she was arrested and sent to Chanchalguda Central Jail.

After her demise in 1991, due to her commitment and selfless service she has a statue of her's in a strategic point put up by the then Congress Government. The Present Government has taken upon itself to conduct both her Birth and Death anniversaries.

Such a unique and inspirational life of Eashwari bai film made to be shared with the present and future generations" Said J.Geetha Reddy.
