World Cancer Day: Actor Brahmanandam emphasises on the need to build Cancer-free India
Padma Shri awardee and Tollywood comedian Brahmanandam said there was a need to eradicate cancer and make the country cancer-free. Speaking on the occasion of World Cancer Day on Tuesday, February 4, he said, "Everybody should be educated about cancer; he told consuming tobacco is not our culture, which is inherited from the foreigners.
Agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu said that good health is boon for the humankind and need to be protected. He expressed concern over the heart and cancer ailments, which is on rising from the last decade. The minister has recalled the Government's efforts to make the state healthy by implementing health schemes such as YSR Arogya Sri which aims to provide treatment for the poor people across the state and neighbouring states as well.
On the other hand, on the occasion of World Cance Day, 3k run program was held in Vijayawada on Tuesday in which the students, officials, and the public took part to bring awareness about the dreadful disease Cancer.
