No selfies with animals: Please don't try to take selfies with animals in the wild, can turn out to be dangerous as people get closer for a better selfie and getting closer is extremely dangerous and one has to maintain a minimum safe distance with wild animals and that safe distance is not a good distance for selfies per se.

Know about the sanctuary: Many sanctuaries promise up close and personal with wild animals and while they are fun and amazing photo opportunities, please note that many such sanctuaries, capture and drug otherwise healthy animals, treat them inhumanely to make do what tourists like. The cruellest animal tourism activities include – riding elephants, crocodile farms, walking with lions, holding sea turtles, watching performing dolphins, dancing monkeys, and charmed snakes, among other things. Rather than going somewhere that you can pose with chained or sedated animals, pick parks where animals are brought there for may be rehabilitates maltreated, injured, sick, and orphaned big cats, giving the animals everything, they need to recover and sometimes to be released once again. Alternatively visit wild sanctuaries where animal roam free.

Help local economy: Most people just enjoy seeing them on popular wild TVs but actually visiting these parks helps promote wildlife tourism and in turn help local people around the forest fringes earn their livelihood and in turn they will consider these wildlife as their bread earners and they respect, worship and conserve these wildlife else economic hardship will push them into poaching and/or land grabbing for their livelihood.

Visit national parks instead: Visiting closed parks with animals made to do stuff to entertain tourists is helping unethical treatment towards wild animals, be it elephant rides to swimming with sharks in the cage, etc. Rather take to the water on a whale watch or shark tour to see naturally occurring sea life that can wow you without putting you in the water or a safari in a national park that gets to see animals in their natural habitat

Don't feed the animals: While on a safari or visit to the jungle, whatever happens, please don't feed the animals. It's a common sight in a few national parks to feed the monkeys and the deer. Various reasons on why we should not feed and among them the major ones are what is good food for us is not good for animals, can create injuries and spread diseases among wild animals, giving food gets the wild animals very close to one and that can be fatal.

Be silent: Many people on a safari are very loud and create a lot of nuisance creating issues in the calmness of a jungle and hence driving away animals from there and adding to their stress and sometimes leading to violent activities from these wild animals.

Shop carefully: Don't get tempted by an 'antique' that is say carved ivory tusk or a black coral bracelet, etc. Just because an item is for sale doesn't mean it's legal to purchase. Some products, such as snake wine, tortoise shell accessories, shells and coral jewellery, ivory, or furs are made from protected plants or endangered species and can be illegal to export or import. They can also be the products of poaching or mislabelled to entice tourists.
