Mysterious tales of aquatic animals
Ahmedabad-based fashion designer Purvi Doshi, a connoisseur of vegan fashion dedicated her latest spring summer 2019 collection to PETA India's campaign, 'Fish in tanks, No Thanks!'. The collection is appropriately named- 'Marine Runway'!
Purvi Doshi extends support towards raising awareness about the marine lives through this exuberant collection of hand-crafted garments that represent the mysterious tales of aquatic animals in exquisite shades of ivory!
'Marine Runway' is a collection of seasonally versatile separates that use handspun and hand-woven khadi and cotton Kota, that showcase species of aquatic animals like the gigantic octopus, quaint sea horse, playful penguins, and shining and glowing fishes! Air-whipped asymmetrical silhouettes, crisp pleats embellished with hand Parsi embroideries and artisanal tassels, signify tales of a sustainable and ethical future where no fishes are in tanks.
Purvi Doshi has coupled the art of India with the handwoven fabric of freedom. Khadi, an indigenous fabric of India, forms the structure of each garment in this collection. The ensembles are dyed with natural colours that respect the environment we live in.
