Hyderabad-based Vedika Kakrania makes her way into the art world digitally

From learning fashion designing and putting on her childhood creativity into practice, Vedika Kakrania creates a whole new way of artwork by using digitalised technology.

Sharing about her interests and artworks in a freewheeling chat she gives out details of this new form of art.

All of 25 Vedika was born in a small village in Rajasthan and was raised in Hyderabad. Coming from an orthodox background, it was quite difficult for her to pursue fashion designing as a career.

"I am thankful to my parents for their immense support and love that they showed upon me whenever I needed it. Apart from a fashion designing I also have a Mass Communication degree."

Narrating about how she started her artwork she said, "As a kid, I have always been fascinated by drawing and craft work.

Various social media channels like YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest were learning platforms for me. I realised how drawing has become digitalised with the help of tablets iPad Pro, etc.

I learnt using the apps 'Amaziograph' and 'Procreate' and started sketching my own mandala designs and artwork.

Seeing online videos made me realise that digital sketching is the future in the fashion world.

So, putting up ideas on a digital platform is much easier than normal sketching. You can literally play with ideas and come up with new work every time."

"I have sketched quite a few designs on my iPad Pro. Most of them are inspired by mandala art, as I have more affection for textile designing.

Soon I will be trying to work on foil printing to as these things are quite unaware in India.

I have recently started my own YouTube channel named as KalakariiibyVed. My Instagram handle is KalakariiibyVed where you can see all my drawings and artwork and can get your customised orders done," she adds.

About her fashion designing and painting, she says, "One of the things I love doing is tie and dye and t-shirt painting. I take up customised orders.

Not only customised hand painted t-shirt, but I also do fluid art on canvas and string art. Everything is personally done by me and no machinery is involved in this."

Moving on further with her work she says, "As said earlier digital artwork is the future in the fashion industry and in the coming years' everything will be digitalised, so I wanted to adapt the digitalisation as soon as I could.

Also, it eco-friendly and very compact to use and handle."- AJ
