VG Siddhartha's Wife Malavika Hegde Appointed CCD CEO
Executive body of Cafe Coffee Day Enterprises limited has appointed Malavika Hegde as CEO with immediate effect.
Malavika Hegde is the wife of Cafe Coffee Day founder Late VG Siddhartha. It is worth mentioning here that this appointment was made one year after Siddhartha committed suicide. Last year, in July, after the demise of Siddhartha, S V Ranganath who is the independent member of the executive body, was appointed as interim director of the company.
This information is also given in the records submitted to the stock exchange center. Questions were being raised about the future of "Cafe Coffee Day' after the demise of the founder Siddhartha who had changed the coffee culture in Karnataka and India with CCD outlets. Even share value had slumped after his demise. Shares transactions were stopped after February 3. Now, Malavika Hegde has been made the CEO of this company.
Recently, VG Siddhartha's son Amartya Hegde was engaged to Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar's daughter Aishwarya in a huge ceremony. The even held at their Sadashivnagar residence in Bengaluru was also attended by former Karnataka chief minister SM Krishna who happens to be Amartya's maternal grandfather.
