CBSE, (Central Board of Secondary Education) would be releasing the CBSE Class 10 Results 2020 soon on cbseresults.nic.in. Every year the CBSE board conducts the class 10 examinations in February and March. This year the exams began on February 15, 2020, and were supposed to end on March 28, 2020. However, due to many apprehensions, at first, the exams were postponed and later cancelled.

The board cancelled all the pending CBSE Class 10 exams. Here are some of the frequently asked questions on CBSE 10th Result 2020.

When CBSE 10th Result 2020 will be released?

CBSE 10th Result 2020 is all set to release by the board on or before July 15.

Where to check CBSE 10th Results 2020?

Check CBSE 10th Result 2020 would be announced on cbseresults.nic.in. or cbse.nic.in.

The results can also be checked on CBSE ECL App and Umang App. Schools would also be shared with the schools after they release it online. From few years CBSE Results are also available on Microsoft Bing and Google. It will also be available on the two portals as well.

Will CBSE Class 10 and 12 results announced on the same date?

CBSE typically releases the Class 12 results first. Class 10 results are generally announced within a couple of days after the class 12 results are announced.

What is the passing criterion for CBSE Class 10?

As per the current guidelines, students of CBSE Class 10 must score a minimum of 33 per cent marks (individually and in aggregate) to pass in the board examination. The 33 per cent marks include the internal and external assessment score. The marks would be counted cumulative and not individually.

Students need to pass in all five subjects to be declared pass. For students who appear in 5 papers, they must get 33% or more in all the five subjects. If a student fails in one subject – he/she can appear for that subject in compartment examinations.

For a student who appears in 6 subjects (5 primary and 1 skill subject), in case the student fails in one subject but passes in the skilled subject, he/she would be promoted to next class. Such students can also appear for the examination as 'improvement' if he/she wishes to continue the subject in Class 11.

When would CBSE conduct Compartment Exams?

CBSE typically conducts the compartment examinations in July. This year, due to coronavirus pandemic, the dates may not be announced soon. CBSE board may conduct the exams only when the time is favourable.

What about the papers that were cancelled for CBSE 10th 2020?

CBSE has cancelled all the remaining papers scheduled between March 19 and March 31 for Class 10 board examinations. However, most of the papers were skill-based; it would not impact the students' marks or overall percentage. Still, it is not clear whether CBSE would grade them as cancelled or as per internal grading. As for the main papers that were left for a few students of North East Delhi, CBSE has released complete evaluation criteria. Students would be marked based on the scores of the papers attempted.

If the students are not happy with the marks given for cancelled CBSE Class 10 exams, can they appear for the improvement later?

No. Marks awarded by CBSE for Class 10 cancelled papers would be considered as final. The board would not conduct any examination later for Class X students.

Does CBSE award Marks or Grades in Class 10?

CBSE would award marks and grades to the students. The mark sheet would have the cumulative marks scored by the students (out of 100, which include internal marks and theory marks awarded in the exam). The Grade would also be provided subject wise as per the guidelines. Also, the grades are assigned to the percentile rank of the marks scored by the students and not based on the actual marks.

When would CBSE release the 10th Mark Sheet?

CBSE generally releases the mark sheets on DigiLocker on the day of the results itself, or within a day or two. The physical copy of the mark sheet is sent to the respective schools of the students. Students can collect these at a later date or whenever convenient.

How to get Migration Certificate?

CBSE issues the Migration Certificate along with the mark sheet after the results are announced. The students' schools have to apply for it at the time of filling the application form. In case you did not apply for it at the time of filling the application form, you can do so once your result is declared. Migration Certificate is also available in digital format and can be downloaded, once issued, from DigiLocker.
