Guntur lad secures first place in RGUKT CET
Vijayawada: Gurram Vamsikrishna, a student of Dachepalli model high school in Guntur district, stood first with 99 marks in the common entrance test conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technology (RGUKT) followed by Potunganta Zakir Hussain of Kadapa district and IS Arya Yugandhar Dolepet ZP high school of Rajam who secured second and third places respectively.
Releasing the results of the RGUKT common entrance test-2020 here on Saturday, minister for education Aaudimulapu Suresh recalled that all the 6.30 lakh students of Class X throughout the state were declared passed in the backdrop of coronavirus breakout. However, in order not to lose an academic year for the students, the common entrance test was conducted on December 5 in which 85,755 students appeared for admissions into integrated B.Tech six-year course in Triple ITs, and diploma courses in Acharya NG Ranga Universitiy, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University and Dr YSR Horticulture University at Venkatramagudem for the academic year 2020-21.
The minister complimented RGUKT chancellor Prof KC Reddy and chairman of AP State Higher Education Hemachandra Reddy for successfully conducting the test without hiccups and releasing the results within a week.
The counselling for admissions would commence from January 4 and the classes would commence in the second week of January. The results were published on the RGUKT website and call letters would be sent to the students along with cut-off marks.
Meanwhile, the minister announced that the admissions into the Intermediate courses should be conducted as per the guidelines issued by the state government. The colleges must follow the guidelines if they wish to secure recognition, he warned. It may be recalled that the government issued permission to 300 new colleges this year.
