JEE Mains Registration: 8 new rules to know
Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Application process has started and will last until September 30. The ministry of human resource development (HRD) has announced many significant changes in JEE, which is to be held in January 2020.
JEE is the entrance exam for all centrally-funded technical institutes and colleges. It is also the eligibility exam for IIT JEE.
Here are all the significant changes announced.
1. Number of questions reduced to 25 from 30 in Maths, Physics and Chemistry tests
For the first time in 2 decades, JEE candidates will face less number of questions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as well as Engineering Drawing (for architecture aspirants)
2. Of all these 25 questions, 20 will be MCQs
3. Now any student with Maths in class 12 is eligible
Candidates from any stream who have studied Mathematics in Class XII will be eligible now to face the entrance test for the Bachelors' in Planning course in JEE. So far for the Bachelor of Planning course, only students who studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII were only eligible.
4. Drawing test replaced with paper on planning (25 MCQs)
Also, those seeking to enter the stream need not take the drawing test, which will be only for architecture aspirants.
5. For BArch courses, Maths paper of 25 questions
Out of these, 20 will be MCQs and five objective types.
6. Questions in drawing reduced from three to two
7. Maths and aptitude tests to be standard with BPlanning
8. There will be an aptitude test of 50 marks in the MCQ format.
