Journalists from Africa visits UoH

Hyderabad: A group of journalists hailing from various African nations—including Botswana, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Eritrea, and Comoros— visited to the University of Hyderabad (UoH) on Friday. The trip was orchestrated by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and was coordinated by the Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Telangana. The primary goal of this visit was to acquaint the foreign media representatives with diverse facets of India, emphasizing field trips that spotlight India's achievements in renewable energy, industry, defense, governance, IT services, education, and pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Devesh Nigam, UoH's Registrar, extended a warm welcome and provided a concise overview of the administrative and infrastructural resources available at the University. Subsequently, Professor Chetan Srivastava, Director of the Office for International Affairs, delivered a presentation on Internationalization and courses tailored for International Students. Additionally, Professor Samrat Sabat, Director of Research and Development, highlighted the university's research strengths, being one of the Ten Public Institutions granted the esteemed status of Institution of Eminence in 2019. Professor Ghanshyam Krishna, Director of the Institution of Eminence (IoE), presented an overview of the university's various IoE-driven activities.

During their visit, the delegation explored the facilities at the Association for Scientific Pursuits in Innovative Research Enterprises (ASPIRE), including Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies (BioNEST) and ASPIRE-TBI within the School of Life Sciences. Professors GS Prasad, Director of Technology Industrial Liaison and Entrepreneurship Unit (TIE-U), along with Dr. Anil Reddy and Dr. Ramakrishna, elucidated the endeavors of the University of Hyderabad's incubation centers.
