Karnataka govt extends ban on online education for classes upto 7 in the state
The Karnataka government which earlier put a ban on the online education for the classes from pre-nursery to fifth class following the opinions of the education experts and children Psychiatrists has now extended it up to class 7. The Karnataka government in the auspices of educational minister S Suresh Kumar has taken the decision and imposed the ban, which would be applied to all schools across the state irrespective of its affiliation of boards.
Earlier, the government has constituted committee over the online education for the classes 6 to 10 after putting a ban on online education to classes up to 5. However, it is now extended to class 7. The committee further is said to give its opinion on the inclusion of the technology in schools to provide the education to the students belonging to remote areas.
On the other hand, Minister Suresh Kumar has directed private schools not to increase the tuition fee the coming academic year as the people have been effected with the Coronavirus lockdown. He also warned of strict action against the institutions who collect the excess fee in the name of the online education. The minister has reportedly held several meetings with the officials before announcing the ban on online education and took the decision.
