The Destination Australia initiative is an Australian Government initiative that provides funding to approved higher education providers to give scholarships to domestic and international students studying in rural Australia. Destination Australia scholarships are offered to students pursuing courses ranging from a Certificate IV to a doctorate (such as a PhD) in remote campus sites around Australia for up to four years. • Students are immediately assessed after applying for a specific qualification. Therefore, no application is necessary. The scholarship will be noted in your final Letter of Offer if successful.
• $750 per semester for Vocational Education and Training (VET). The award is worth up to $3,000 towards the total tuition expenses for a two-year VET degree—undergraduate: $3,000 for the first two semesters of study. The Scholarship is worth up to $12,000 towards the total tuition expenses for a four-year undergraduate degree.
• Postgraduate (coursework): $3,000 for the first two years of study. The scholarship is worth up to $6,000 in tuition for a two-year postgraduate degree.
• The VU College Diploma Merit Scholarship recognizes and celebrates the achievements of overseas students. Students with a higher education credential in Business (Enterprise), Information Technology, or Engineering are eligible.
• These awards are not available to students who have previously obtained a scholarship or sponsorship from another organization. Academic accomplishment with at least a distinction in each course is expected in the first diploma semester at VU College in Melbourne.
