Hyderabad: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) Secretary Syed Omed Jaleel asked the officials of the board to issue notices to the private junior colleges claiming their students as topper and rankers in the intermediate examinations.

In a statement the TSBIE said that it has come to the notice of the Board that most of the private junior college managements are publishing their results in print and electronic media, showing their candidates as self-styled toppers, rankers of towns, mandals, districts and the State. It was to attract the students for admissions. However, such activities are against the Board Act, he said. Citing various other provisions of different acts, the TSBIE said that such practices have been barred and the colleges resorting to the same will have to face stringent action from the TSBIE, he warned.

Besides, the District Intermediate Education Officers (DIEOs) and Nodal officers are asked to issue show-cause notices to the private junior college managements under their jurisdiction for above violations and asked to submit compliance reports to the board.
