Uttar Pradesh: 1.07 cr students take admission in classes 9 to 12
Prayagraj (UP): In more than 27,000 secondary schools of Uttar Pradesh Board, a total of 1,07,79,463 students have enrolled from classes 9 to 12 in the 2023-24 session.
The last date for advance registration for classes 9 and 11 and registration for classes 10 and 12 examinations was September 10.
According to UP Board secretary Divyakant Shukla, a total of 55,03,863 students have registered for the 2024 high school and intermediate exams of UP Board including 29,54,036 in class 10 and another 25,49,827 in class 12.
Similarly, a total of 52,75,600 students including 27,51,807 students in class 9 and 25,23,793 in class 11 have made use of advance registration option of UP Board, he added.
Compared to last year, the number of students in classes 9 to 12 has overall decreased by 3,26,678 students.
The number of students in classes 9, 10 and 12 has fallen while the number of students in class 11 has increased.
The main reason for the increase in the number of students in class 11 is that almost 90 per cent of the candidates were successful in the high school board examination of 2023, the official said.
Out of 31,16,454 candidates who had registered for high school, 25,70,987 (89.78 per cent) were successful in the 2023 edition of examination.
Data shows that 25,49,827 students have taken admission in class 11 this time.
The reason for the low number of children in class 9 is believed to be due to the lack of registration of fake students.
In earlier years, the copying mafia used to get students registered to help them pass on the basis of unfair means. But for the last few years, due to strictness, this trend has waned.
