AAP, BJP must unitedly combat pandemic
The apex court has rightly pulled up the state government of Delhi for its ineffective handling of corona pandemic. Apart from Delhi government's failure of rendering health services to patients, its failure to gear up testing which is crucial for chalking out a roadmap for effective containment of virus spread in community is what perturbs one's mind more. The Delhi government had a good track record in education and public health sectors for its commendable initiatives like setting up of Mohalla clinics.
Still it has failed miserably in dealing with emergency situation of virus upsurge. Instead of taking the bull by its horns, it has either tried to put the issue under carpet, or divert the issue by restricting health services to bonafide Delhiites. As it's said by ICMR that the slums and urban areas hold two times more risk of exponential growth of infection numbers, Delhi authorities should wake up to the alarming situation. The Centre should help the state government in its difficult times. The situation there demands a coordinated effort by both governments.
