150th birth anniversary celebrations of Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy celebrated
Hyderabad: On Thursday, RBVBRR Women's College celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of the great visionary Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy. The programme began by garlanding the bust of Raja Bahadur within the premises of the college.
Prof. S.V Rama Rao, Former Head, Department of Telugu, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Osmania University was invited as the Chief Guest. Y. Jayanthi, Convener, Student Advisory Board invited the distinguished guests and the gathering. Prof. S.V Rama Rao spoke in details about the academic, financial, and educational contributions of Raja Bahadur. He highlighted the ways in which today's youth could uphold his vision and principles. He was felicitated by the Principal, Dr K. Sarada, Vice-Principal, Dr J Achyutha Devi, and Correspondent cum Secretary, Prof. Sudarshan Reddy.
The chief guest also bestowed the Ranks to the NCC cadets and awarded prizes to students who won in various competitions like essay writing, elocution and extempore among others. The formal programme was followed by an interesting and eclectic range of cultural performances by the students. The program ended with a formal Vote of Thanks by Vijaya Lakshmi, Department of Commerce.
