350 students to be part of 6-week summer workshop
Hyderabad: A six- week product engineering workshop EXCITE has been kicked off from Wednesday at JNTUH. The Vice-Chancellor of JNTUH Prof. A. Venugopal Reddy Inaugurated the workshop.
A total of 65 ideas were shortlisted from various JHUB colleges for product development. There are a total of 350 students who are going to be part of the six-week workshop to be mentored one-one on the various stages of product development life cycle.
In his inaugural address Prof. A. Venugopal Reddy has emphasised the significance of Innovation to successful careers in the Knowledge society. He added that EXCITE 2019 which is the fifth edition of the flagship summer program of JNTUH should bring out products which have greater social relevance and sustainability.
He further promised that the University though the Innovation hub provides assistance throughout their journey from idea to product development to possibly tech startup incubation.
Patent filing, Industry mentorship, access to facilities for prototyping and manufacturing companies, handholding from serial entrepreneurs are some of the support available right now at JHUB for students to make best use of.
The ideas of the students are winning ideas of JHUB Hackathon series or of finalists of national level Hackathons like Smart India Hackathon etc. Prof. Ramesh Loganathan CIE, IIIT Hyderabad delivered the keynote on Innovation and Tech Product development. Prof, N. Yadaiah Registrar JNTUH, Industry mentors, JLab SPoCs were amongst those present during the event.
