A memorable day out for orphan children in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Seventy children from Rainbow Homes, an orphanage, were treated with a surprise nutritious lunch at a restaurant to celebrate world food month by Youngistaan Foundation. The children were first informed that they were going to attend a special class. However, much to their pleasant surprise, the bus they were travelling in stopped at Madina Hotel near Charminar for a biryani treat.
Apart from enjoying the ambience and delicious food, the children were also given basic lessons on hygiene and importance of not wasting food during the group lunch. Volunteers from Youngistaan Foundation briefed the children about the concept of general hygiene and food wastage. They explained vital points that were to be followed by every child before consuming food which keeps them safe and healthy.
After the session, children relished their food and ensured not to take multiple servings to avoid food wastage. Interactions and outings like this help a child cope up with their stress from school and introduce them to a whole joyful experience. "Such experiences leave long-lasting memories on children. We plan to do this with children from other orphanages as well and are looking for restaurants to partner with," founder of Youngistaan Foundation, Arun Daniel Yellamaty said.
