Amaravati: VIT-AP university conducts innovation expo

Amaravati: VIT-AP University conducted an expo at its Amaravati campus. It was a three-day Engineering Clinics Expo with themes "Innovative Projects using Arduino" for fresher's and "System Design" for sophomores, where all the fresher's and sophomores worked on 360 projects and developed working models. Through two level filtering process, some exceptional projects have been shortlisted for expo today.

M S Subrahmanyam, Global Delivery Head & Senior Consultant, TCS, Hyderabad, Mr. Chandra Sekhar Cherukuri, Vertical Delivery Head – I & ES, Wipro, Hyderabad, Mr. Arunachalam Jayaraman, Senior Director, Virtusa, Chennai, Mr. Vasudev Maduri, Consultant Analytics, Hitachi Consulting, Hyderabad have come external review committee members and reviewed the prototypes and nominated the top – 3 winners.

Dr.D. Subhakar, Vice-chancellor VIT –AP University told that the concept of engineering clinics is drawn from the idea that engineers to require a place to get the hands-on expertise of knowledge gained from the courses studied in class.

Dr. CLV Sivakumar, Registrar, VIT AP University told that The expert panel assesses the presentations given by the students, and their answers during interaction session after each presentation and finally selects top-3 projects. To encourage young talents, VIT-AP University is reimbursing all the expenses incurred in building those top-3 projects. Apart from top – 3 winners, two new awards have been constituted entitled, "Most Contemporary Project", "Most Useful/Socially Relevant Project" to encourage the students. To recognize the effort of the project guides another award entitled "Most useful guide" is constituted from this year.

Fresher winners: "Homework writing Machine" is an innovation which helps the students in drawing diagrams and content preparation as a part of their day to day academic schedule completion.

Sophomore winners: "Brain Computer Interfacing" is a Brain Controlled wheel chair for providing mobility to individuals who find it difficult to use a powered wheel chair due to various impairments.
