Anthonians of 1977 batch have a gala bash
Hyderabad: The SSC batch of 1977 of St Anthony's High School, Himayat Nagar met at Nizam Club recently to get together and travel down the memory lane.
A few of the then teenagers had already completed their careers and were superannuated, and a handful were on the last laps of their long and successful work life.
As was expected, the middle-aged men and women freely intermingled, sharing anecdotes and enjoying themselves heartily, recollecting the fun and frolic of the school days, when nothing else other than staying together mattered.
The few grandmothers and grandfathers who were part of the group recollected their new status with pride while asserting that they have become children again when they heard their batchmates recollect sweet and sour incidents about their past days.
On this occasion, one of the batchmates, N Shiva Shankar Reddy, a high-ranking police official who has been empaneled for the IG post was felicitated by his old classmates.
The assembled had a collection of well-placed people in different walks of life from retired academicians, mass media, business sector and state and central government service.
There were also professionals who had straddled many parts of the world and had returned to India to lead a relatively relaxed life after an eventful phase abroad.
