AP student to observe Chandrayaan-2 with PM
Srikakulam: Pragada Kanchana Balasri Vasavi class-X student of government model school at Eedulavalasa in Polaki mandal received rare honour. She will observe Chandrayaan-2 experiments at Bangalore along with Prime Minister (PM), Narendra Modi.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) conducted quiz competitions to students across the nation from August 10-20 to select two candidates from each state. Students who answered more number of questions in a span of ten minutes were selected to see Chandrayaan-2 experiments along with PM.
All the selected candidates across the nation will see ISRO Chandrayaan-2 experiments at ISRO's headquarters at Bangalore along with PM, Narendra Modi on September 7. Balasri Vasavi answered more questions in ten minutes and was selected for the honour. Balasri Vasavi's native village is Talasamudram in Polaki mandal a remote village and studying at Eedulavalasa model school in the same mandal.
She belongs to a farm worker's family and her father, Govinda Rao died six years ago due to ill health. Her mother, Tejeswari is running the house by attending farm works as labour.
'I have been working as farm labour and earning meagre amount and sending my two daughters to schools for their better future' said mother of Balasri Vasavi. I am very happy on receiving information that my elder daughter, Balasri Vasavi was selected by ISRO' she said. 'As a principal I am proud about honour received by my student, Balasri Vasavi' said government model school principal, I.Srinivasa Rao.
