Artificial Intelligence workshop for principals held at DPS
Hyderabad: Delhi Public School, Nacharam was the venue for the unfolding of the new initiative by CBSE. IBM-CBSE Artificial Intelligence K-12 Curriculum Orientation for Principals and Training Program for Teachers was hosted on Thursday. As many as 64 Principals and 56 teachers from elite schools of Hyderabad, nearby districts and cities had participated in the workshop.
The inaugural began with the welcome address by the Principal Sunitha Rao who began by applauding the CBSE for the paradigm shift in addressing future careers. The Key note address was given by R P Singh, Joint Secretary (Skill Education),CBSE, New Delhi. He highlighted the introduction of the AI "Inspire Module" in class 8 and further as an optional subject at class 9.
An audio message by Anita Karwal, Chairperson, CBSE stressed on the need to focus on 21st Century skill enhancement was aired. Delhi Pubic School, Nacharam inaugurated first of its kind Artificial Intelligence Innovation Lab and Incubator in the school premises. Various models and innovations were presented by the students.
Naveen Prathapaneni, Architect, Cloud Solution and an IBM expert on AI spoke about Artificial Intelligence as a navigating tool for the new age technology and human intelligence. A team of members from Learning Links Foundation outlined the agenda for the teacher training program that will continue for the next two and a half days.
