B M Birla Science Centre organises global meet on Fundamental Physics

Hyderabad: The 17th International Conference FFP—The Cosmos and Anything Else Besides was organised in the G P Birla Centre ( B M Birla Science Centre, Hyderabad) from September 6 - 8.

It started with a brief recap of ISRO's missions by Dr. Vasudevan Gnana Gandhi who was involved in these missions. This apart broadly the topics include frontier topics of current research including gravitational waves, neutrinos, dark matter and dark energy. Physicists from different countries including USA, Japan, UK and Russia participated in this prestigious event.

In addition, scientists from IIT, Indian Institute of Science, TIFR, IUCAA also delivered invited talks. Amongst these are Prof. Tarun Souradeep who heads the Indian Gravitational Wave Programme, Prof. Sreerup Raychaudhuri who contributes to the LHC, Dr. Pranava Deshmukh of IIT, Dr. Angom Dilip Kumar Singh, Prof. S. Sarkar from Oxford, Dr. Amol Dighe, Dr. B.G. Sidharth, Dr. M.V. Altaisky, Dr. Carlos Perelman, Dr. C.S. Unnikrishnan, Dr. Anirban Bandyopadhyay and others.
