Bengaluru: Presidency University hunts for Science talents

An exhibition of science talent hunt participated by over 300 school children of Bengaluru was held at the Presidency University in Bengaluru. Students from 52 schools of Bengaluru participated in the Exhibition. There were 75 exhibits which were displayed in the Science Talent Hunt. Subjects covered included Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Biology, Agriculture, Irrigation, and Environment besides other related areas. The following teams got the first three prizes :

Also there were 5 consolation prizes of Rs 5000 each which were won by MES B. R. Subba Rao P U College, Presidency School, Bangalore South, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jalahalli, BMS P U College for Women and Sindhi P U College.

Chancellor of the University, Nissar Ahmed inaugurated the Science Talent Hunt Exhibition. Present on the occasion of the program was the Pro Chancellor, Prof Vijayan Immanuel, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Radha Padmanabhan, academics, Dr C A Karnik and Dr Parag Diwan besides other professors of the university.

The following eminent scientists were the judges : BK Venkataraman, Former Associate Director and PRI Satish Dhawan Scientisit, ISRO Bangalore, Professor Aloknath Chakrabarti, NASI Honorary Scientist, Dept of Mathematics, IIS, Bangalore, Dr Adarsh, Prof Jain University and Dr Naveen Kumar, Prof. and Dean, R R Institutions.

In an effort to acknowledge the efforts of teachers and honor them, a Gurusamarpane Programme, was organised to pay obeisance to the great teachers and was attended by 110 teachers and principals of institutions from various schools and educational institutions. They were honored by Dr Rajashekhar, Deputy Director, PU Board, who was the Chief Guest and Dr Malleshwarappa, Director of Collegiate Education, who was the Guest of Honor.
