BRAOU's national symposium delves on need for reforms in revenue admin

Hyderabad: Dr B R Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences in Collaboration with Indian institute of public administration (IIPA) Telangana and Andhra Pradesh regional Branch organised one-day national symposium on "Reforms In Revenue Administration-With Special Focus On Land Tittles And Rights" on Monday at the university campus in Hyderabad.

The Chief Guest Prof Madabhushi Sridhar, Former Central Information Commissioner (RTI Act), said that all over the country every land owner is facing the problems on their own land records. Central government and state governments have to take steps to correct all the land records across the country. In India nearly three crores of pending legal cases in that 66 per cent of the cases are regarding land disputes only. He emphasised that every year the government is getting Rupees 10000 crore by selling government lands. He condemned the selling of government lands. He suggested to the Govt. of Telangana for initiation of Public Records Act 1993.

Prof. K. Seetharama Rao, presided over the function, Prof T Papi Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Council Higher Education, Prof A Sudhakar, Director (Academic) Dr BRAOU, Prof. C Venkataiah, Registrar, Dr. BRAOU spoke on this occasion. Prof. Y.Pardhasardhi, Dr I Rambrahmam, Jwala Narasimha Rao, M. Sunil Kumar also expressed their views on land reforms, revenue administration, land title and Rights etc.

Dr Pallavi Kabde, Symposium Director and eminent academicians from other universities, government officials, practitioners, social scientists, and research scholars participated. Dr AVN Reddy proposed the vote of thanks.
