CBIT celebrates Research Day

Hyderabad: Research Day celebrations began on a grand note in the campus of CBIT on Friday. The institute, which is also celebrating the "Ruby Jubilee" this year, reached another milestone by kick starting the "Research Day", which now will be a regular annual feature in the Institute. Prof. David Gibson, Director of Learning Futures, Curtin University, Australia, inaugurated the event and addressed the gathering that included researchers, faculty, students, delegates from Academia, Industry, R&D Organisations, representing various states of the Country.

Prof. Gibson congratulated the efforts of the institute and expressed his readiness to work in tandem with CBIT for exploring new horizons in Research, as a part of their MoU with CBIT. Dr. Vundela Malakonda Reddy, President of CBIT, presided over the inaugural function and remarked in his presidential address that decision making is crucial in life. He further added that CBIT is an outcome of an appropriate decision taken in 1979, for a right cause. So much so, the decision of switching the Institute over to research mode now, is also a right and crucial decision in the interest of the Society, he added.

Dr. G. Gopal Reddy, Member, UGC, participated as a Guest of Honour and stressed the need for keeping abreast with the latest technologies to penetrate into research activity. He also hinted that the problems of Society must be taken as problems for Research. Dr. Rupa Vuthaluru, a Professor from Curtin University and another Guest of Honour, remarked that expertise in Mathematical Modelling is a key to Research. Smt. D. Sandhya Sree, Chairperson-D&P, CBIT, outlined the implicit meaning and purpose of research and appreciated the renewed spirit of CBIT staff and students for the cause of Research.
