Delhi Public School students delve deep into rural landscapes in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: World Heritage Day 2019 was observed in Delhi Public School, Nacharam recently. Under the guidance of Principal Sunitha Rao and Vice Principal Nandita Sunkara. Humanities group students of Class XII conducted a special assembly highlighting the history and culture of India and raised awareness about monuments as well as the other heritage sites of India.
Speeches delivered by students focussed on the World Heritage Day 2019 theme "Rural Landscapes" and the importance of India's heritage value with the relevant contribution to the world as a society was put forth in the most appropriate manner. Students also brought forth the need to focus on preserving the heritage sites by highlighting in detail the recent fire accident of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, one of the prominent historically, architecturally, spiritual Universal heritage.
An interesting quiz contest was conducted for the students in the assembly and the right answers earned a unique prize each. About 20 important Indian Heritage sites like Mahabalipuram, Hampi, Maha Bodhi temple, Kaziranga National Park, etc were printed as photo card momentos and awarded to winning answers. It was unique because of the emphasis on knowing about our prestigious World Heritage Sites. The credit of preparing the students goes to their History teacher.
