Dream big, it might scare you : Lt General Nitin Kohli
Hyderabad: "If you've never failed, you've never lived' is how the saying goes. Failure is probably one of the aspects in life most people are afraid of. But the truth is: everyone has failed and everyone will fail again. ... So do not be afraid of failure, it is a part of your road to success", said Lt General Nitin Kohli, Former Signal Officer – in - Chief and Senior Colonel Commandant, Indian Army. He has interacted with School of Technology, GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad students on Monday (i.e. 8 July 2019). He redefined the failure as it is a first attempt in learning.
He spelt out five fundamental tenets that he wanted all the budding engineers to keep in mind: First- self controlled & be focused .. clear though on one's selected target, second- perspective taking .. how you are receiving is very important, third- Communication .. ability that what you want to communicate others, fourth- Making connections, fifth- Self directed & Engaged learning.
He said that every student is unique and the God has made him absolutely unique. He exhorted to keep learning and everybody has to hunger for inside learning. 'You need to develop your thinking to a higher standard, think positive, feel positive, and act positive, that will result in you attaining positive results in your life' he added. If you are positive, you will attract the positiveness, he said. He advised the student to use social media and mobiles in a sensible manner. 'Dream big, it might scare you' Lt. General concluded his speech.
