English and Foreign Languages University Basic Korean language course concludes

Hyderabad: Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, the English and Foreign Languages University and Suresh Chukkapalli, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Hyderabad were present at the Valedictory of the first batch of Basic Korean Language Course, jointly conducted by the EFL University and the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hyderabad, today.

This Course is offered to the participants, free of cost, as part of the University Social Responsibility (USR), a novel initiative introduced by Prof. Suresh Kumar for the first time in any Indian university. The USR is a platform that helps universities bring to fruition their responsibility towards society, and, in the process, enliven engagement with the community. The objective of the Course is to encourage Indians to communicate in Korean language. The six-month Course commenced enrolling 18 participants at the Phoenix Arena, Hyderabad, and is offered free of cost. It was conducted for 6 months (120 hrs) on weekends to students with no prior knowledge of Korean language. The Course helped participants to learn Korean script – 'Hangul' and its usage, Number systems (Native and Sino), sentence structures, basic verb tenses and Korean Culture.

Prof. Suresh Kumar and Suresh Chukkapalli congratulated the participants on successfully completing the Course and wished them the best. The second batch of the Basic Korean Language course will commence on 8th June, 2019 at the Phoenix Arena, Hyderabad. (INN)
