Gachibowli: DAV National Sports Tournament concludes

Gachibowli: Dayanand Anglo Vedic School's All India Sports Tournament (Under 19 Boys) which was conducted for the first time in South India wrapped on Thursday. DAVites reluctantly bid adieu only to eagerly wait for another entire year, hoping to find it even grander in 2020. Punjab and Jammu Kashmir zone bagged the overall championship with largest number of points, whereas Delhi-NCR zone and Haryana Chandigarh Zones bagged the second and third positions.

DAV three-day sporting extravaganza hosted by DAV Telangana region at Indoor Stadium, International Sports Complex in Gachibowli impressed students, teachers and principals from different states of India. "I love to visit southern states every year and the capital Hyderabad has presented lots of excitement, confidence and love," said a group of students from Punjab and Jammu Kashmir Zone.

However, the cultural performances and the most astonishing Darpan performance by hundreds of students together at a time in the stadium brightened the eyes of viewers and it grabbed the attention entirely and left students, guests and audience with goosebumps.

Dr Prabodh, Vice President, DAVCMC graced the occasion as the chief guest for the conclusion ceremony. Speaking on the occasion he said, "Hard work, commitment and perseverance are the core values of DAV. Its collective dream is to develop a promising and prosperous institution across the India and set precedents in all respects. Our mission is to ensure that all the DAVites has an emphasis on the value of challenge and fostering of self-reliance as students grow and mature. The school aims at providing age appropriate learning with emphasis on positive development of academic and social skills," said Prabodh Mahajan, Vice-president, DAVCMC.

Speaking about the success of DAV National Sports in Telangana, Seetha Kiran, Telangana Regional Officer, DAV said, "It's a great honour to get an opportunity to host DAV National Sports for the first time in South India, games and sports help in the all-round development of the students and it inculcates a feeling of unity and discipline and extended desire to host many more National events of DAV in Hyderabad."

Mathrusri DAV students clinched Gold and Silver medals in the competitions giving a greatest completion to the student from DAV northern Zones. The principal Anandhavalli for Mathrusri DAV in Miyapur congratulated the winners and extended infinite support and love for children.

Principals Parthipan and Prabhakar expressed their desire to conduct many more DAV National events in home state and encouraged students to participate in every tournament. Competitions boosts energy in students says Vasantha Raman, Principal, DAV, Kukatpally.

DAV South Zone coordinator VNNK Seshadri , JP Shoor, DAV National Sports Co-coordinator, Mahesh Chopra, Secretary, JK kapoor, Rita Kapoor, RK Talwar, NC Sharma were the other dignitaries present on the stage. Minoo Aggarwal and Uma Maheshwar Rao, Regional officers, AP Zone were also present.
