Guest lecture at GITAM on Clinical Data Analytics

Hyderabad: Venu Gopal Catari, Clinical Programmer, Spunk Soft Training Centre delivered a guest lecture "Clinical Data Analytics" at School of Pharmacy, GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad on Thursday. He elaborated the emerging concept of clinical data management and Pharmaco-vigilance and their importance in the current clinical research studies. He also told about the importance of bio-statistics in clinical studies.

Venu Gopal says about newer software like SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and its application in clinical studies as the pre requisite for clinical approved by USFDA (United States Food and Drug Administration). He discussed about the current status of clinical research in India and abroad.

Catari detailed about the prospects of cities like Hyderabad becoming the hub of clinical data analytics in the near future as majority of bio-statistical works of leading pharmaceutical companies are being carried out over here. He elaborated the career opportunities after completion of courses related to these areas. The students asked various queries related to the topic to the guest speaker.

Earlier, Dr G Shiva Kumar, Principal, School of Pharmacy, in his welcome address, introduced the guest speaker. Dr Rakesh Barik, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy proposed vote of thanks.
