Haritha Haram award to GITAM

Hyderabad: GITAM deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad has received 'Haritha Haram' award from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). DVVSR Varma, Resident Director has received this award from D.Raju, Chairman, CII, Telangana; Dr. Gaddam Ranjit Reddy, MP- Chevella and E.V. Narsimha Reddy, VC & MD, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited in a conference on 'Developing a Sustainable Economy through Technology & Innovation' held at Hotel Trident, Hyderabad organised by CII on Friday.

GITAM has been planted more than 50,000 saplings in 2019 as a part of Telangana Government's prestigious program 'Haritha Haram'.

From the last three consequent years, GITAM has been receiving this award for its contribution in keeping the environment green, clean, safe and healthy.

Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Chairman, CII Southern Region; Prof. B.S.Murthy, Director, IIT Hyderabad and Krishna Bodanapu, Vice Chairman, CII Telangana also presented in this award presenting ceremony.

Dr. Gaddam Ranjith Reddy, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, EV Narasimha Reddy, Vice Chairman & MD Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd., D Raju Chairman CII, Krishna Bodanapu Vice Chairman, CII Telangana presented awards to Chairman Malka Komaraiah, Sunitha Rao – Principal DPS Nacharam, Jyothi Turaga Principal –Nadergul, NeetuPuri – HM,DPS – Mahendra Hills (Feeder School of DPS Nacharam)& Robin Michael PRO under Educational Institutes category for taking up Telangana -Haritha Haram scheme on a large scale during the "CII Telangana State Annual Meeting T-Set for Growth" organised by the CII Telangana.

CII acknowledged the mass plantation drive adopted by the schools. The other dignitaries present were Prof. BS. Murthy Director IIT Hyderabad, Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Chairman CII Southern Region, Subhajit Saha, Director CII Telangana.
