Hyderabad: 3-day workshop at GITAM from Feb 20
Hyderabad: Department of Mathematics, GITAM (Deemed-to-be University), Hyderabad will organise a three-day national workshop on 'Physics of Fluids: Methods and Applications' (Part-II) at its campus from 20-22 February. Prof K Maruthi Prasad, Convenor of this workshop has informed in a press release on Saturday.
The main objective of the workshop (Part-II) is to introduce the participants with the basic modeling aspects of Fluid Dynamics, Analytical Techniques, Differential Transformation Method (DTM) to solve nonlinear differential equations that appear in flow problems, hydrodynamic instability analysis and hands-on training with Mathematica software.
Major topics covered in the workshop are modeling of fluid transport in various systems, Physics of interface conditions, Transport phenomenon in porous media: specific models and hands-on training to solve the corresponding problems, Similarity solutions in transport phenomena, Boundary Layer Theory, Fundamentals of Mathematica software, Introduction to hydrodynamic instabilities and Stability of Newtonian fluids.
Prof G P Raja Sekhar, Department of Mathematics, IIT Kharagpur; Dr P Anantha Lakshmi Narayana, Department of Mathematics, IIT Hyderabad and Expert speakers from GITAM would participate as resource persons in this workshop.
