Hyderabad: Annual Day held at Little Flower Degree College

Hyderabad: Little Flower Degree College, Uppal celebrated its 12th Annual Day on January 11, in a resplendent manner with vibrancy and magnificence. Dr. Rajat Kumar, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer & E.O. Principal Secretary, Telangana State and Mr. Mohammad Musharraf Ali Faruqui, Additional Commissioner, GHMC graced the occasion as guests.

The evening commenced with a musical invocation and lighting of the lamp followed by a dazzling welcome dance. This was followed by a visual presentation of Progressive Annual Report.

The Principal of the college Rev. Bro. Vincent Reddy in his welcome address acknowledged the patronage of everyone present and talked about the challenges faced today in the Information Age. Quoting "Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?" He exhorted the gathering saying Let us 'not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.'

Guest of the day Dr. Rajat Kumar complimented the Principal on nurturing a wonderful institution where he witnessed the true spirit of India. Expressing his concern over the elite and the educated of the society not taking part in democratic processes, he appealed to the audience to take active part in voting, to be vigilant and to make right decision. He also encouraged the college management to engage the students in electoral literacy assuring his support. He in the end urged the gathering to be responsible and not to be afraid to 'be the change' quoting Mahatma Gandhi, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world."

Remembering his college days, Mohammad Musharraf Ali, guest of the day, motivated the gathering to always keep the child, student alive in them and identify what they are made of. He encouraged the students to give back something to the society. Awards were presented to the students who excelled in academics, literacy & cultural competitions and extracurricular activities by the guests. This was followed by cultural programme, which was an amalgamation of various hues highlighting the true spirit of India. Scintillating performances representing traditional folk dances across the nation captivated the audience. Props and costumes added colour to the celebration with the synchronised dance movements to foot-tapping music. Patriotic melodies by the college choir enthralled everyone present. The programme ended with vote of thanks and the national anthem.
