Hyderabad: The Junior School of DPS, Nacharam celebrated its Annual Day with the title La Odisea ….Del Tesoro (The Odyssey for the Treasure)
The celebration began with the welcome address by Sunitha Rao, Principal DPS, Nacharam. Her inspirational talk on the new initiatives undertaken by the school in academics and sports was remarkable. The Chief Guests for the occasion were B Subhas Reddy, MLA, Uppal Constituency and Dr. Venkatesh Netha Borlakunta, Member of Parliament. And the Guest of Honor was Dr. N Naveen Kumar, Assistant Professor of Centre for Folk Culture Studies, University of Hyderabad.
The event was linked to an adventurous narrative of a King who is given a cryptic clue to find his treasure. The King who needed to decode the clue in order to find his treasure, embarks on a journey with his Minister in search of the Tesoro or treasure! While on his journey, the King and his people encountered different kingdoms and lands and their people. He meets the Elves, Kambalis, Shamos, Vaqueroes, Golems, Marvel Super Heroesand also the Juniyas. The King even encounters Pirates and is aided by the Warriors to fight the pirates and proceed on his journey.
Finally, The King reaches the place of the Tesoro where he finds a huge casket and five angels representing Stability, Compassion, Joy, Knowledge and Power come out of the casket. All this was exhibited magnificently in dance form by the tiny tots of Classes 1 & 2.
Uma Kasinadhuni, Head Mistress (Junior wing) said The journey of the King is similar to the journey of our children through their lives. They face challenges, make friends, overcome difficulties, understand their potential and become ready to unlock the results of their hard work and achieve their aspirations. Education is an adventure which prepares them for a life with Stability, Compassion, Joy, Knowledge and Power.
The efforts of all the teachers are commendable in ensuring 100% participation by all the children and giving them the podium to showcase their talent in front of their parents, grandparents, chief guests, the management and the staff of the school.
Laurels and words of appreciation from parents, grandparents and guests. One of our parent Mrs. Sumana wrote saying "It is a great pleasure to tell you that the Annual Day event was very well organized and way beyond my expectations". The school had hundreds of such messages and calls which made it happy and eventful for all of us.
