Hyderabad: CBIT, MGIT sign MoU for the establishment of Bamboo Centre

Hyderabad: Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) and Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) entered into MoU with Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), Hyderabad to establish, maintain and enhance academic and intellectual interaction through specific initiatives particularly the establishment of Bamboo Centre.

D Bhasker Reddy, Advisor, CBIT, while welcoming the guests to the MoU signing ceremony at CBIT Campus, Hyderabad, highlighted the need to establish Bamboo Centre at CBIT to serve as a focal point for bamboo-related activities and revive the bamboo industry in the Southern region of Telangana.

C Achalender Reddy, IFS, Director, CIPS addressed on the opportunities available in the area of Bamboo like Propagation and cultivation, Bamboo treatment and Presentation, Product development and Processing, Infrastructure for Bamboo Market, development of tools, equipment and machinery, Skill development, R&D.

D Sandhyasree, I/c President and Chairperson D&P, CBIT has participated in this event. Dr N Srinivasa Rao, Assistant Director, CIPS, Dr P Ravinder Reddy, Principal, CBIT and Dr K Jaya Sankar, Principal, MGIT were signatories of MoU. Principals of both Institutes gave an overview of Research activities at both the Institutes.

Dr P Sudhakar, Special Invitee who worked extensively in the area of Bamboo gave insights into the benefits of Bamboo in terms of eco-friendly, healing product, structures, also looking from Social aspect. Other members of Participating Institutes have taken part in the event.
