Hyderabad: FICCI awards the University of Hyderabad as University of The Year
Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad won the prestigious "University of the Year (in existence for over 30 Years)" award from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). After being shortlisted based on a rigorous assessment by industry leaders, academics and policy makers, UoH was asked to make a presentation before the grand jury in October at the FICCI offices in New Delhi. This presentation was evaluated for its Vision and Mission, new initiatives (SWARG, TIE-U, Fast-track promotions under Graded Autonomy, specialized centres), Outcome Metrics, Awards and Honours, Rankings (NIRF, QS, NAAC), Collaborations, and Future Plans.
The award was received by Prof. Pramod K Nayar, Chairman - IoE from Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India at the FICCI's 6th Higher Education Excellence Awards, 2019, on Wednesday held in New Delhi.
Speaking on UoH's newest recognition in the service of higher education, following on the heels of the coveted "Institution of Eminence" status, Vice Chancellor Prof Appa Rao Podile said he was both overwhelmed by the sense of achievement and the responsibility entrusted in the University's students, faculty and ministerial staff. He said, all these awards only strengthen the University's resolve to better serve the nation as its leading public, multidisciplinary institution.
