Hyderabad: Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management organized a seminar in Operations Management

Hyderabad: Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM) organised a seminar in the Operations Management area on "Emerging Opportunities and Challenges in Operations Management". The seminar was addressed by Dr.Satyanarayana, Ex-Director, Supply Chain Management, Dr.Reddy Labs and Sajjan Agrawala, an independent consultant in IT Operations. 

Sajjan started the discussion by describing the operation challenges, functions of operations managers, forces imparting competitiveness and how to increase productivity. He provided insights about the role of technology in operations with a case study of Kodak trends in operation management and a video about introduction to APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling).

"Every challenge is an opportunity in disguise and a problem is just a misunderstanding opportunity", said K Satyanarayana who dealt regarding the role of supply chain, value networks and clarified the doubts of students regarding the careers in operations field. The session ended with an interaction between the students and speakers, which provided students with the fundamental insights to the world of operations.
