Some of them are from the State of CG while others are from reputed institutions like NIT's, IIIT's, well-known private universities etc., of 10 different states. IIIT-NR is proud to host, guide and provide them exposure to research through its high quality laboratories, recent advanced technologies, tools and library facilities, in addition to financial support.

The purpose of the OIP is to enable undergraduate students carry out independent research in their field of interest. In their feedback some interns expressed that at IIIT-NR, they got exposure to the new technologies and hands-on experience on various advanced tools, about which they were not aware and which are not available at their parent institutions. Director IIIT-NR, Dr. Pradeep K. Sinha, addressed the interns in the session and inspired them to make best use of the opportunity provided to them, by the Institute.
